GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR NSW SMALL BUSINESS MONTH EVENTS

The NSW Government is helping small businesses bounce back from the pandemic with up to $640,000 in grants available to help organisations host events to generate new ideas and connect with fellow entrepreneurs.

Grants of up to $2,500 for local councils and $3,500 for chambers of commerce, industry associations and not-for-profit groups are available to help them organise events for the fifth NSW Small Business Month in March 2022.

$2.8 BILLION PACKAGE LAUNCHED TO TURBOCHARGE NSW RECOVERY FROM COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Families, individuals and businesses across NSW will benefit from a targeted $2.8 billion package developed to accelerate recovery following the three month lockdown due to the Delta COVID-19 outbreak.

The NSW Government’s Economic Recovery Strategy released today includes funding to stimulate economic activity in cities and regions with a strong focus on rebuilding and supporting businesses, helping the hip pocket and boosting jobs.

SCHOLARSHIPS OPEN FOR VULNERABLE YOUTH

Some of the state’s most disadvantaged young people will be supported to achieve their academic aspirations as part of the NSW Government’s Youth Development program.

Cabinet Secretary, the Hon. Natasha Maclaren-Jones said young people across NSW have had to endure the effects of the pandemic and adapt to new learning environments.

“The Youth Development Scholarship will help eliminate some of the barriers to higher education encountered by many individuals in our community,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

MORE SUPPORT FOR DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE VICTIM-SURVIVORS ACROSS NSW

Women and children fleeing violence at home in NSW will benefit from a massive NSW Government investment in housing and specialist support services.

Cabinet Secretary, the Hon. Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC said the $484.3 million funding boost over four years is the single biggest investment in tackling domestic and family violence in NSW history.

“Secure and stable accommodation is one of the biggest challenges a woman and her children can face when trying to safely leave a violent relationship,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.
