Member of the Legislative Council, Natasha Maclaren-Jones today called for local young people to nominate for the 2015 NSW Youth Advisory Council (YAC).

Council members come from all over the State and are broadly representative of the diversity of young people living in NSW in terms of gender, Aboriginality, and cultural and linguistic background.

Natasha Maclaren-Jones said that the Youth Advisory Council is one of the most effective ways for young people to be involved in Government decision making.

Member of the Legislative Council, Natasha Maclaren-Jones has called on NSW residents to have their say on an Australian-first scheme to protect people who may be at risk of domestic violence.

Announced as a key election commitment the NSW Government will now pilot a Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (DVDS) that enables people to find out whether their partner has a history of domestic violence offending.

Member of the Legislative Council, Natasha Maclaren-Jones has called for nominations for the NSW Carers Awards 2015 and asked the local community to nominate outstanding unpaid carers and carer-friendly organisations carers they know.

The NSW Carers Awards 2015 are an opportunity to celebrate the dedication, commitment and valuable contributions of unpaid carers across NSW.

Mrs Maclaren-Jones encouraged everyone in NSW to nominate an unpaid carer or organisation so they receive the acknowledgement and appreciation they deserve.
