NSW GOVERNMENT HELPS NSW CLUBS TO BE COMMUNITY LIFELINES

Registered clubs across NSW now have the ability under law to become centres of shelter and safety in emergencies for any resident living within a 5km radius, under NSW Government changes that recognise clubs as the hubs of their local communities.

Member of the Legislative Council Natasha Maclaren-Jones said the Registered Clubs Amendment (Exception to 5 Kilometre Rule) Regulation 2015 will relax the requirement for anyone living within a 5 kilometre radius of a registered club to be a full member or member’s guest to enter a club during emergencies.

NEW POLICE RECRUITS FOR NSW

Member of the Legislative Council Natasha Maclaren-Jones today welcomed more than 100 new NSW Police Force recruits, formally sworn in at the Police Academy in Goulburn this morning.

“These probationary constables have chosen a career that will see them serve the community by protecting lives and property, investigating and solving crime and keeping the people of this great state safe,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

RENEWABLE ENERGY ACTION PLAN ANNUAL REPORT 2015

Member of the Legislative Council Natasha Maclaren-Jones today welcomed the release of the NSW Renewable Energy Action Plan Annual Report 2015.

In only the second year of the Action Plan, 12 of its 24 goals have been completed, while nine more have been progressed.

Mrs Maclaren-Jones said this progress clearly shows NSW is open for business in the renewable energy sector.

HELP SHAPE DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE SUPPORT

Member of the Legislative Council Natasha Maclaren-Jones has called on the local community to help shape domestic and family violence (DFV) reform in NSW to better target perpetrators and improve support for victims.

Mrs Maclaren-Jones said the NSW Government is developing a DFV Blueprint to enhance our response to DFV and public feedback is vital to how we respond.
