NSW ECONOMY ONCE AGAIN NATION’S BEST

NSW remains well ahead of the other states when it comes to economic performance, according to today’s ANZ Stateometer.

NSW Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian has welcomed the positive report, which uses key monthly data to assess and compare state and territory economic progress.

“Throughout 2015, the NSW economy surpassed the rest of the nation on a consistent basis,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“This is the sixth Stateometer released by ANZ and every single time NSW has outperformed the other states.”

THEATRE PRACTITIONERS INVITED TO APPLY FOR 2016 REX CRAMPHORN FELLOWSHIP

Member of the Legislative Council The Hon Natasha Maclaren-Jones has encouraged professional theatre practitioners to apply for the NSW Government’s 2016 Rex Cramphorn Theatre Fellowship in honour of one of Australia’s most innovative theatre directors.

The $30,000 fellowship will enable the recipient to undertake a self-directed program of professional development including research, travel, mentorships and creating new works.

SYDNEY METRO MILESTONE: TUNNELLING NOW COMPLETE

Tunnelling has finished on Australia’s longest railway tunnels, with the last of four giant tunnelling machines completing work on Sydney Metro Northwest.

NSW Premier Mike Baird, Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance and local MPs witnessed the historic breakthrough as Tunnel Boring Machine 2 ‘Florence’ arrived at what will become Cherrybrook Station.

“Today everyone can be proud at what’s been achieved, with this long-promised critical public transport project taking shape before our eyes,” Mr Baird said.

PLAN AHEAD BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS

NSW residents are being encouraged to plan ahead to ensure they get all of their government transactions out of the way before heading on holidays.

Member of the Legislative Council Natasha Maclaren-Jones said hundreds of services and transactions were available through the Service NSW one-stop shop network. 

“Service NSW has redefined what service delivery looks like for government, providing access to transactions from multiple agencies under the one roof,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.
