NSW GOVERNMENT HELPS TECH SAVVY SENIORS GET CONNECTED

Member of the Legislative Council Natasha Maclaren-Jones today announced a new telecommunications offer and expanded training opportunities, providing NSW Seniors Card holders with another incentive to get tech savvy.

The Tech Savvy Seniors program provides older Australians with the skills and confidence to connect to the digital world.

“The NSW Government is delivering on its election commitment to expand the Seniors Card program and help NSW seniors enjoy the benefits of being connected to the internet,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

BRINGING AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION INTO THE 21ST CENTURY

Member of the Legislative Council Natasha Maclaren-Jones has welcomed the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government’s plan to revolutionise agricultural education.

A new Hurlstone Agricultural High School, estimated to cost more than $35 million will be built at the Western Sydney University Hawkesbury campus.

“The new Hurlstone Agricultural High School in Hawkesbury, in partnership with Western Sydney University, will be a world-leader in high-tech agricultural sciences and STEM,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

THE TIDE HAS COME TO HAVE YOUR SAY ON COASTAL REFORMS

Member of the Legislative Council Natasha Maclaren-Jones today welcomed the draft coastal reforms that the NSW Government has released for public feedback. The new reforms will make coastal management in NSW simpler and easier to implement.

Mrs Maclaren-Jones said the new coastal reforms recognise the natural environment, social, cultural and economic values of our coastline.

“Our coastline is a precious resource and we want to improve our coastal processes to protect our coastline for future generations,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

FAIR GO FOR ALL: BOXING DAY TRADING LAWS PASS

Member of the Legislative Council, Natasha Maclaren-Jones has welcomed news that NSW Parliament has passed historic Government legislation to allow all shops in the State to trade on Boxing Day.

“I’m delighted that we have finally modernised these laws that have arbitrarily banned shops in certain areas of the State from trading on Boxing Day,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

“It was unfair and illogical that some residents of NSW could access Boxing Day sales while people in other regions of NSW could not.
