NEW CURRICULUM RELEASED FOR OUR YOUNG LEARNERS

New English and Mathematics syllabuses for the State’s youngest students have been released, marking a major milestone in the NSW Government’s Curriculum Reform agenda.

This is a comprehensive review that has come in more than 30 years, with year 1 and year 2 to be the first to benefit from the changes.

Cabinet Secretary, the Hon. Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC said the Liberals & Nationals Government are making the changes to the education space that will benefit our students now and for years to come.

NEW SUPPORT SERVICE FOR PEOPLE IMPACTED BY SUICIDE IN NSW

Anyone impacted by suicide in NSW will now have access to a new support service to help them navigate the day-to-day challenges brought about by the tragic death of a member of their community.

Cabinet secretary, the Hon Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC said that post-suicide was critical to support loved ones as well as the wider community. 

“For friends and family, the death of a loved one by suicide is not only heartbreaking and shocking, it can also create new challenges as well as making day-to-day tasks incredibly difficult,’ Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

NEW GENDER EQUALITY DASHBOARD BRINGS KEY STATISTICS ON WOMEN TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME

Cabinet Secretary, the Hon. Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC has welcomed the launch of the NSW Government’s Gender Data Dashboard, an online tool that will shine a light on women’s experiences across a range of key areas.

Mrs Maclaren-Jones said the new online database provides up-to-date statistics on topics such as the gender pay gap, maternal health and higher education completions for women.

Today is the day to let our local teachers know how important they are in our local communities and highlight the significant impact they have on the lives of our young people.

Cabinet Secretary, the Hon. Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC said World Teachers Day gives children, students, families and the school community an opportunity to recognise the teachers who have made a difference in their lives.

“Teachers across NSW have played a pivotal role in all of our lives this year and today gives us an opportunity to acknowledge their efforts,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.
