SURF CLUBS INVITED TO SHARE IN $4 MILLION OF FUNDING

Surf Life Saving Clubs in NSW are encouraged to apply for funding as part of the NSW Government’s Surf Club Facility Program.

The Hon Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC, Government Whip in the Legislative Council and Parliamentary Secretary for Health said surf life saving clubs are vital community hubs with benefits extending far beyond the beach.

“Our volunteers play a vital role patrolling our beaches and keeping us safe in the water but our surf clubs also provide a place for families to gather on a weekend and feel part of the community.” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

BUSHFIRE CLEAN-UP UNDERWAY

The Hon Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC, Government Whip in the Legislative Council and Parliamentary Secretary for Health is calling on everyone whose property was destroyed in the recent fires to register for clean-up services now.

The Federal and NSW Governments will cover the clean-up costs to remove hazardous or damaged materials, including asbestos, concrete slabs and trees so there is no cost to owners.

The 2020 Ministers’ Awards for Women in Local Government are open and the Hon Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC, Government Whip in the Legislative Council and Parliamentary Secretary for Health is asking member of the community to celebrate the contributions of inspirational women by making a nomination.

Mrs Maclaren-Jones said the annual awards recognise the valuable contributions female councillors and council staff make to improve the lives of their local residents.
