HELPING NSW SENIORS TO STAY SOCIAL IN NSW

NSW organisations which help seniors stay social and connected can now apply for a share in $600,000 from the NSW Government’s Reducing Social Isolation for Seniors Grant Program.

The Honourable Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC, Government Whip in the Legislative Council and Parliamentary Secretary for Health said grants of up to $60,000 are available for projects that help older people stay connected.

PET-FRIENDLY STRATA LIVING IN NSW

The NSW Government is making it easier for strata schemes in NSW to approve sustainability infrastructure in residential apartment buildings.

The Honourable Natasha Maclaren-Jones, Government Whip in the Legislative Council and Parliamentary Secretary for Health said the changes passed in the Legislative Assembly last week will unlock the potential of sustainable energy and infrastructure in apartments by lowering the voting threshold from 75 to 50 per cent to get energy efficient projects passed.

ONLINE COURSES ADDED TO SUMMER SKILLS

An expansion of fee-free Summer Skills training courses is now available for NSW school leavers in 2021 with more online short courses on offer, as part of the NSW Government’s Skilling for Recovery initiative.

The Honourable Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC, Government Whip in the Legislative Council and Parliamentary Secretary for Health said the Summer Skills program, launched in November 2020, has expanded to include seven TAFE NSW online short courses targeting last year’s school leavers.
